I now understand the need for a god. The promise of seeing loved ones after death or to make sense of the loss can drive anyone to believe in some sort of afterlife or spirituality.
Acceptance, understanding, and appreciation. When they were born I promised to love my children no matter what. I would love them for who they are, regardless of what they’re not.
